El boom del blues británico encontró su máxima expresión a finales de los 60 con artistas como The Yardbirds, Cream o los Rolling Stones. Músicos como John Mayall , Eric Clapton o Peter Green llegaron a una encrucijada en sus carreras en la que tuvieron que elegir entre conservar el blues en su pureza o/y tomar el camino hacia el rock.
